Blind or partially sighted? This form works with your phone’s screen reader: TalkBack on Android, VoiceOver on iPhone. Each question is read out with its choices. If any part is hard, call or WhatsApp the CRPD office line on +220 872 073 066 and a member of the CRPD team will fill it in with you.
Applications close on Sunday 8 November 2026. CRPD must send every observer's details to the IEC for accreditation, so late applications cannot be accepted.

🤝 This is volunteer service, not a paid job. Observers give their time for their country and are not paid. Training is free. CRPD is working to mobilise some support for observers, such as airtime and data for reporting, but this depends on the resources CRPD raises and cannot be promised. Please do not apply expecting payment or items.
About you
You must be a registered voter, 18 or older, and not a member, agent or candidate of any political party.
Your nationality
Use the new 9 digit number: 87 in front for Africell, 83 for Qcell, 86 for Comium. CRPD sends your access code on WhatsApp.
Which number is your WhatsApp on?
Open WhatsApp, then Settings, and look at the number under your name.
You are
Your age
Do you live with a disability? (optional)
CRPD welcomes observers with disabilities. We ask so we can include you and arrange what you need on polling day. Your answer never counts against you.
Will 5 December be your first time voting?
The role you are applying for
Everyone on the team serves on 5 December. Most places are for polling station observers; supervisors and coordinators lead them.
Who are you joining with?
CRPD is recruiting through community groups. Choose the one you are part of.
Where you vote
📍 Choose the region, constituency and ward where you vote. CRPD tries to place you at or near the station where you vote.
Do you live in this ward?
Only if you are at home now. CRPD uses it to estimate how far you live from the polling station, to plan transport. It is kept roughly, to about 100 metres, and deleted after the election.
On the day
Do you have a smartphone with WhatsApp or internet?
Observers report through the CRPD app on a smartphone. If you do not have one, apply anyway: CRPD may pair you with another observer.
Do you have a power bank, or can you get one, to keep your phone charged all day on 5 December?
Polling day starts before 7 am and the count can end late at night. A charged phone means your reports reach CRPD.
Languages you speak (tick all)
Which language do you speak most at home? (optional)
🌍 Help in Arabic
Optional. CRPD's election pages and the observer training are also in Arabic. Volunteers who read and write Arabic help check them, translate CRPD's messages and share them.
Can you read and write Arabic?
Your experience
No experience is needed: CRPD trains every observer. If you have observed before, tell us, because experienced observers are asked to help train others.
Have you observed an election before?
For IEC accreditation
The IEC accredits every observer. It needs a recent passport-size photo of you and the number of your identity document. CRPD sends them to the IEC in one file, and to nobody else. Bring the same document to accreditation.
Your identity document
A passport-size photo of you
Your head and shoulders, facing the camera, against a plain light wall, in good light. No hat or dark glasses, unless you wear a head covering for religious reasons. Ask someone to take it, or use your front camera. Not a photo of your ID card. If you cannot see the screen, ask someone you trust to take the photo with your phone; the check below says out loud whether it is clear.
References
Optional for polling station observers.
A referee who knows you (optional)
Observing the campaign
Peaceful elections start with a peaceful campaign. CRPD is also looking for observers who will watch the campaign where they live, from now until 19 December, two weeks after polling day. If you do this, through the CRPD app you will:
- Every day: send a short report on the situation in your ward (about 2 minutes): calm or tense, rallies and posters, and any hate speech, threats, violence, vote buying or misuse of government property. After polling day you keep reporting for two weeks: how people react to the result, any tension, reprisals or false claims.
- Every campaign incident, as soon as you are safe: where exactly it happened (the app records your location), whether you saw it yourself or heard about it, and whether you have confirmed it with other independent sources.
- Never investigate, confront anyone or put yourself at risk. You report; CRPD checks.
Will you also observe your ward from now until 19 December?
Your costs
Observing is voluntary and unpaid. Some volunteers can pay their own way to training and to their polling station, while others need a little help. Your answer does not change whether you are accepted. It helps CRPD send the support it raises to the people and places that need it most.
Can you cover your own costs? This means getting to training and to your polling station, phone credit or data for reporting, and food and water on the day.
Your commitment
Have you applied, or been accepted, to observe or work in this election with anyone else? This includes another observer group or mission, a political party or candidate (as an agent), the IEC (as a polling official), or the media.
Questions? Call or WhatsApp the CRPD office line: +220 872 073 066
The CRPD team reviews every application and contacts you by phone. Being accepted depends on the places needed in your area.
